U.N. Secretary General Ban Ki-moon said on Tuesday he would drop plans to visit Burma unless he is confident it would achieve tangible results in promoting democracy.
Ban's envoy Ibrahim Gambari disclosed during his visit to Burma in August that the UN Chief himself might go to the Burma to help the country's national reconciliation process.
NLD spokesperson U Nyan Win told the BBC that it was right for Mr. Ban not to come when the prospects of achieving results are slim.
